Presents.

I’m that guy when it comes to buying presents. The guy who will tell you get me what ever you want because it’s the thought that counts. If you ask me “what do you want for <insert celebration>?” I’ll end up telling you either “I don’t know” or “whatever” or I combine both  “I don’t know whatever.”. Quite frankly I don’t think anyone would get me something that I would want. Main reason is I don’t actually have anything I want. There are things I’d think are nice but too expensive to be consider an acceptable gift from someone. So here is a list of items I’ve decided to get myself over the course my life:

  1. A leather travel trunk with brass buckles. Large enough for a couple of days away. Space on the side for a full length umbrella. Zipper on the top of the lid to allow me to put items for quick access. On the inside there will be a buckle to help tie down/compress clothes. On the other side a mesh to hold used/dirty clothes from any left over clean clothes. It would be hard rigid leather corners.
  2. Flip top mittens. I have a pair of wool ones but these are just tide me over. This pair I want will be made of leather on the outside. On the inside there will be sheeps wool however there will be a silk lining on top. only the fingers will flip and to hold it in place will be a brass button clasp.
  3. Popcorn Machine. It can make upto 5 litres of popcorn. Designed to stand on a counter or on a mobile frame. There will be a shoot that you can open to let the freshly popped popcorn out. Connected to this popcorn machine will be a little wooden cuckoo clock. Instead of a bird that pops out there will be a small steam train and it makes the tooting sound. You can set the time on the clock when you want the popcorn machine to automatically turn on. On the other side of the machine there will be space for toppings. However I don’t really have a big sweet tooth so it maybe more of a dipping station.
  4. “THEE Chair”. It will comfortable but firm it will support me and put me in the mood for serious things like reading and enjoying music on it’s own. It will not be a seat that I do everything from. It will be a special chair I use when i wish to isolate myself. No one may sit in this chair. It will not recline as that would be bad for posture. It will not be made of leather. It may smell musty as well as look ugly but it will be my chair. The chair shall be more important than my beloved or any off spring. You cause offense to the chair you sit outside till I have undone the damage.
  5. A morning breakfast table. On this breakfast table I shall set up several different coffee machines. One for filter and one for french press. Depending on the day I’ll have which coffee I wish. On this breakfast table I would like it to fold out. It will be thick Oak wood sitting on a brass or iron stand. Only to be used for breakfast or breaks. The chairs of this table will be wide wooden chairs with arm rests. The back of the chairs will mate the brass/iron stand design. Only two chairs will be at the breakfast table. The fresh breakfast butter will kept in the centre of the table.

That’s all I’ve come up with for now but the presents are mostly practical. If they weren’t used for traveling then it would be gifts to create what I would consider home.

So I took a trip to Wooster after arriving in Ohio to visit Jamie. She made us some delicious coffee. I have to say it was the best Mocha I’ve ever had. I’m not lying. It actually tasted of coffee it wasn’t too sweet. We talked about many things mainly the fact that Jamie needs a Steam punk jet pack where she can distribute good coffee at her whim.
